Whether you enjoy fly fishing or bait casting, we believe you will agree with our past guests that fishing at Trophy Country is as good as it gets.

Approximately 800 acres of strip-mine lakes are comprised of over 100 different bodies of quality water and habitat.  These bodies of water have now been stocked for over 30 years.  The largest is approximately 250 acres in size, and there are many 30 and 40 acre structures.

The development of these bodies of water through mining has created lakes with literally hundreds of miles of irregular-shaped shoreline.  Some of the lakes have depths exceeding 100 feet.  The many interspersed islands create a wide diversity of depth and clarity of water.  These diverse bodies of water vary greatly in temperature and pH.  Many are large enough to enjoy the use of boats, while others are just right for fishing from the bank or a float tube.

The water is cold and the fish are real fighters.  The huge population of Largemouth Bass frequently produce fish in the 8 to 10 pound range.  The potential for a trophy is there every time you throw your line in these waters. There are Kentucky spotted bass of national record size.

Crappie, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Walleye and Northern Pike are also prevalent and sporting due to their size and aggressiveness.  There are a few bodies of water that jug fishing for catfish, and bow hunting for carp also provide a good sport.

Another great catch at Trophy Country.

We feature 16' Triton aluminum bass boats with padded pedestal swivel seats, powered by 40 lb thrust MinnKota electric motors.

In 1997, we introduced Walleyes into two lakes.  In 1999, Northern Pike were also stocked.  Future plans call for introduction of Smallmouth Bass, Trout, Saugar, Muskies, and Hybrid Stripers.

We practice catch and release, but have options that include taking certain fish for eating.  We do not use chemicals for cropping, so fish are not subjected to foreign substances.

We can accommodate your needs for boats, trolling motors, lodging, and meals.  We will be happy to give you quotes on fishing, or combinations with other Trophy Country activities.

Another Satisfied Customer

Dear Rodgers Family,

I wanted to write and thank you for a fantastic Missouri fishing adventure.  What terrific hosts you are!
Butch and I had a great time, one that we both will always remember.  (How could you forget catching an 8 pound bass on a fly rod?)
I hope to be able to experience your beautiful land (Truly Trophy Country) and your warm hospitality in the future.  Thanks again.

Great Fishing Day!

First day of spring fishing can always be a little hit and miss, but not at Trophy Country. On April 8th, our first outing of the year, we went to Trophy Country's "Trails End Pit". Conditions were less than favorable with 30 to 40 mile winds, but sunny and warm. We fished from 3:00pm to 6:30pm. We caught 3 bass weighing 6, 5-1/2, and 5 lbs., and at least 4 in the 4 lb. range and over 35 bass in the 15-inch range. As a bonus, we caught 4 nice crappie including an 17 incher on a lizard! We can't imagine fishing it all day in good conditions, but there are no bad days at Trophy Country!

Fantastic Vacation!

My vacation time at Trophy Country was one of the finest experiences I've had in many years.  The property was both beautiful and quietly restful, and the fishing was as good as it gets.  Indeed, I've told my fishing buddies back here that I've never had better fishing anywhere anytime.
